Choirs Feethams

Podium performance slots available to local singing groups

Choirs from across Darlington are being invited to show off their singing skills and help visitors to Feethams celebrate the season by performing Christmas songs and carols next week.

Choirs of all styles and genres are invited to take part in the Christmas cracker on the multi-million pound entertainment scheme’s podium, with performance slots from Thursday to Sunday in the run-up to Christmas.

“We have a fantastic Christmas tree on the podium level and we thought it would be great opportunity to showcase some of the amazing singing talent in the town,” said Simon Hawkins, Development Director with Urban & Civic – the property development company behind the multi-million pound Feethams. “We really enjoy being able to put on a range of free entertainment for our visitors, and this is a wonderful chance for a whole variety of choirs and singing groups to come along and perform to an audience full of Christmas cheer.”

The performance slots are available to any groups with at least one adult member or guardian, and are available from 5pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 12noon on Saturday and Sunday.

“If we receive too many requests to accommodate everyone, we will look to hold a similar event the week of Christmas itself,” said Simon. “We have had a great first year here in Darlington and just wanted to make sure the community knows how much we appreciate being welcomed. We thought giving a forum to local singing groups and celebrating the season would be a great way for us to do just that.”

Performance slots at Feethams are available from 5pm on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 December, and fro m12 noon on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December.
