As sponsors of the big event on Thursday 24 November, Darlington’s premier leisure scheme is staging a pre-event party – and the whole town is invited!

“From 4pm there’ll be dance performances on the podium level from local groups Stage Darlington, LeapBeatz and Seven Performance Company, along with musical entertainment helping everyone get into the Christmas spirit,” said Simon Hawkins, Development Director with Urban & Civic – the property development company behind the multi-million pound Feethams. “Then after the switch-on there’ll be theatre stilt walkers and roaming bouncing elves to entertain the crowds and keep the fun going.”

For those wanting a seasonal snack to tide them over until tea time, Feethams’ restaurants The Chinese Buffet, Nando’s, Bella Italia, Mangobean and Prezzo will all be giving out samples as well.

“There’ll also be a festive fundraising stall from our partner charity St. Teresa’s Hospice, promoting the Santa Run which will be held on Sunday, 4 December.”

The Feethams event will lead up to the Darlington Christmas Lights switch-on in Market Square, where Santa Claus will be joining a host of stars including former X-Factor contestant Bre Musiq - who is appearing in the Majestic Theatre’s pantomime Aladdin – members of ArtsSpark Youth Dance and Theatre, and TFM’s Steve and Karen who will be hosting the event.

“The switch-on will run from 5pm until 6:30pm and our restaurants will be there throughout, giving out food samples and some exclusive festive offers,” said Simon. “We’ll then be continuing the fun at Feethams afterwards, with stilt walkers, elves, musical and dancers from 6.30pm,” he said.

“We’ve had a fantastic time here at Feethams since we opened in the summer, and we’re really excited to be able to be such a large part of the town’s Christmas lights event and do something to thank the people of Darlington for making our first few months such an enormous success.”

The festivities will begin at Feethams at 4pm on Thursday 24 November. The big switch-on, in association with TFM Radio and Darlington Council, will begin in Market Square at 5pm and run until 6:30pm. The event will be hosted by TFM’s Steve and Karen will include fireworks, music, games and competitions. The fun will then re-commence at Feethams from 7pm.
