As the summer holidays begin in earnest, Feethams Darlington is launching a ‘cool’ competition to win free ice cream for an entire team of colleagues – from an ice cream van that will come to their workplace!

Running all week from Monday, 8 August, the competition will see the Feethams Ice Cream Van making calls at lucky businesses across town and serving up free cones to keep the summer heat at bay.

Simon Hawkins, Development Director with Urban & Civic – the property development company behind Feethams – said the competition was open to anyone and everyone who works in Darlington. “When we launched Feethams earlier this year, we said we wanted to establish the entertainment and leisure scheme as a key member of this community,” he said Simon. “Serving up free ice creams to an entire team of colleagues just seemed like a nice, neighbourly thing to do!”

Every morning next week, workers will be invited to enter the competition - with one business being selected each day for the van-tastic ice cream tour later that afternoon.

“All anyone has to do to enter is to explain why they think their colleagues deserve free ice creams,” said Simon. “If they’re the lucky winner, we’ll dispatch our ice cream van stocked up with enough to for everyone at the office, factory, shop - or wherever they work.”

As well as making stops at the winning businesses, Simon said the Feethams Ice Cream Van would be making a special call at St Teresa’s Hospice. “We’re going to call in to see our friends at the hospice and to give our ice creams to everyone there too,” said Simon. “We recently named St Teresa’s as our chosen charity of the year, and as they do such exceptional work we wanted to do something a little special for them.”
The Feethams Ice Cream Van competition will run each weekday from Monday, 8 August. To find out more and to enter, visit the Feethams website at www.feethamsdarlington.co.uk.
