The autobiographical performance, Reassembled, Slightly Askew, presented as part of Jabberwocky Market’s spring season of theatre events, will be at Feethams Darlington between Thursday, 2 and Saturday, 4 March to give shoppers a chance to experience a 90-minute audio-based artwork about a young woman named Shannon Yee.

The unique event will see audience members lying on hospital beds whilst listening to an audio about Shannon’s journey of rehabilitation after falling critically ill with rare brain infection. The show will explore various aspects of Shannon’s near-death experience, including being in a coma, going through brain surgeries and reintegrating herself into society.

Simon Hawkins, Development Director at Urban & Civic, said he is looking forward to seeing  the Jabberwocky Market’s fantastic project, Reassembled, Slightly Askew event at the scheme next week. “Here at Feethams it is really important to us to support local groups and organisations in the area, so it is a real pleasure to be able to play host to Darlington based producers, Luxi and Jabberwocky Market event,” he said.

“Reassembled, Slighty Askew is a truly inspiring performance about a Belfast-based playwriter’s near-death experience, so we are expecting it to be a big hit with our shoppers,” he said. “Throughout the week, we are encouraging the people of Darlington to come along and enjoy the exclusive events in the first leg of the groups tour of the town.”

Producer of Jabberwocky Market, Caroline Pearce, said she can’t wait to start the company’s season at Feethams Darlington. “I am thrilled that Jabberwocky Market and Feethams have been able to team up to bring a real intense pop-up and exciting theatre experience into one of their units,” she said. “It is such a lovely space and we’re extremely excited to meet new audiences who might not have come across our local events before.

“Reassembled, Slightly Askew provides a fantastic launch for our eighth season of events in Darlington and we hope everyone enjoys the story of Shannon Yee.”
