Held at the Dolphin Centre on Saturday 2nd February, families, business owners, and residents viewed proposals for the £30 million scheme, which will feature a nine-screen multiplex cinema, an 80-bedroom Premier Travel Inn hotel, along with additional leisure facilities and restaurants.

During the consultation event, locals spoke with members of the project team about the plans for Feethams Leisure, and were encouraged to leave feedback about the scheme. Comments are currently being compiled on the scheme with all feedback through the website, Facebook and Twitter pages being welcomed until 18th February 2013.

Should planning permission be granted, Feethams Leisure will provide a first-class leisure experience for locals and help to attract visitors to the town centre, whilst also creating 500 jobs, and further jobs during the construction phase.

Commenting on the consultation day, Duncan McEwan, Head of Retail and Leisure, Terrace Hill said: “We were all encouraged to see a great amount of support for Feethams Leisure being shown during the event and look forward to receiving the public’s thoughts on the scheme. Only once all feedback has been considered will we finalise plans for Feethams Leisure before submitting the application in spring 2014.

“The consultation event demonstrated a clear appetite for the scheme and should the application be approved, we are looking forward to working with the Darlington Borough Council to bring Feethams Leisure to the public in December 2014.”

The public can view the proposals at www.feethamsleisure.co.uk and leave feedback via the website, Facebook, and Twitter pages.

WSB and Buckley Burnett are joint property agents on the scheme.
